Some of the best time in my career has been spent designing, strategic planning, and the managing of numerous brands. From straightforward brand and identity design, to more involved brand development, strategy, and market positioning.

I’ve consulted and implemented best practices for social media advertising, and advised clients how to better engage with online audiences to improve traffic to their primary sites.
As Creative Director for my personal studio, I’ve had the pleasure consulting with a diverse clientele in Alberta and Saskatchewan involving industries in health care, education, government, home building, and oil & gas.
Highlights
The following samples are a curated selection of projects I’ve worked on over my career that illustrates my broad skills as a designer. Please take your time and enjoy!
High-end banquet and catering brand, and identity development
Twenty Three is a fully developed banquet and catering brand built to support Civeo’s RFP bid for the Remai Museum in Saskatoon.
With inspiration based on the 23 original Picasso art pieces the museum holds, a heavy influence in Picasso’s expressive interpretation of facial forms played as important inspiration when developing the brand mark.
Attention was made to the materials used in the development process to support the parallel between the brand’s importance on using locally sourced ingredients, and a farm-to-fork ideology – which is expressed in the menu and aesthetic, as well as the operating environment.
Cafeteria food brands for institutional catering
Various in-house brands were developed to support Civeo’s venture into institutional catering. Five brand concepts were developed to cover a diverse, healthy cuisine that college and university populations would find favorable.
STAQERS: Custom burgers and shakes
PHINE: Japanese – poke and sushi
FROMAI: Italian – pizza and sodas
FLAMBA: Mexican – Burritos and tacos
FRÜSH: Freshly squeezed juices and smoothies
Trendy, fast, grab-and-go storefronts
A fully developed brand for a grab-and-go storefront food kitchen was created with consideration for logo development, packaging, advertising, and interior design.
Strategic brand and market planning was roughed out to help provide direction to internal stakeholders and operations personnel.
Corporate business cards
Heavyweight business cards for client-facing personnel.
A spot gloss was applied to the back highlighting the brand mark to draw attention the area when light catches the surface. This gloss on matte finish adds a level of sophistication that compliments the brand’s business model facilitating corporate events and special event catering.
3D Star Wars model
This model was produced to demonstrate the power of 3D Studio MAX for the purpose of education in the advanced 3D modelling summer camp class.
3D Star Trek model
This was a personal project intended to achieve an accurate facsimile of the 1/6400 scale model it was designed from.
Social media job post
To help support Glenrose Home’s need to fill important positions within the organization, the design’s concept played off the circular shape of the company’s logo while adding some visual iconography to illustrate some of the tools involved in the home building process.
Project Details
3D model for competition engagement.
The Junior Announcer rendering was created to support the Sherwood Park Toyota campaign involving young vocal talent under the age of 13 to complete in a singing competition.
The idea behind the design was to personify young talent with the smaller microphone, and have the radio personalities of Corus represent the larger one.
Stylistically, the two microphones worked well to tell the story of ‘looking up’ to someone more experienced.
Re-usable take away program for institutional catering
This poster was designed to support advertising at our institutional locations with a focus on ‘going green’.
An in-house product shot was captured for the hero image you see in the final artwork, with Photoshop compositing used to create the final composite.
Corporate values campaign
To coincide with Civeo’s mission-vision-values launch and the acquisition of Noralta Lodge in 2018, an internal campaign was launched to personalize the story why we do what we do. Many of who work in the company (that are not day-to-day client facing), may not fully appreciate how everyone contributes to the success of our core business – serving customers at out lodges. This value campaign helped facilitate the story that what we do as a company makes a difference to the guests we serve.
An interactive version of the booklet was also developed, including a video archive of the 2018 town hall.
WordPress design conversion
A WordPress redesign of our initial static HTML site was required in order to add additional functionality, and to better integrate social media and an online ordering system to the site.
Booth design for North American tradeshows
These modular trade show designs were designed to accommodate 10’x10′ and 20’x20′ booths. Rich media screens were incorporated into the booths to help support messaging, and to promote longer audience engagement in the area.
Home builder brandmark re-design
Design objectives for the Country Meadows logo re-design was to keep with an open, unconstrained appearance (just like it’s prairie location where inspiration came from). The fonts were chosen to include an old style typeface for ‘country’, and a softer typeface for ‘meadows’.
Corporate headshot series for ID badges and Microsoft Office integration
Photography support for HR and IT
Coffee cards for institutional catering
Coffee card program introduced at our institutional locations to bolster engagement with on-site brands.
Corporate print collateral
As with most corporations, marketing collateral is necessity to support consistent messaging and story telling across all departments; with a unified look and feel that helps build brand awareness and integrity through consistency in the minds of our clients.
Industrial Room Renderings
Architectural room renderings for marketing and sales collateral
Supporting brands
Community logos were created to support the marketing and advertising of communities Daytona Homes’ built and sold in.
Logos for the Curve in Copperwood (Lethbridge), Edge in Ellerslie (Edmonton), and for the internal decor centre were developed to support these business locations.
Digital advertisements for internal corporate communications
One of my favorite aspects of advertising focuses on digital design. It’s a medium that challenges me and my clients how to best communicate (sometimes) complex messages into something that’s visually impactful and simple in context. Much like how effective billboard advertising needs to do more with less, so is the case with online advertising.
Web Layout design
Web design interface for local home builder in Edmonton. This project was brought about to create a unified package between print collateral and their online presence.
Though I handled the designing of the interface, development and execution was handled by g[squared]
Digital compositing
Photoshop is one of my all time favorite applications to play with. With my experience in the home building industry, it’s fun to take seemingly boring photos and turn them into something beautiful.
Food truck wrap for Red Table Foods
Food truck wrap for Red Table Foods.
Social media advertising
Social media ad for kitchen promotion.
You’re the hero in this comicstrip-inspired design
The ‘Superhero Yourself’ campaign was designed to attract attention to new home customization – the idea to empower buyers into building the home of their dreams.
Appreciation gift for our Indigenous partners who participated in combating the 2016 Fort McMurray fires
Special commemorative display box presented to our indigenous partners who helped in controlling the Fort McMurray wild fires in 2016.
A video was also assembled from media outlets as part of the presentation to the group.
Home builder brandmark re-design
A much needed logo re-design was required to support the company’s new position in the home market as a more modern home builder with a contemporary look.
RFP submission for Suncor Energy
The design of the box was created to speak to Civeo’s core business, workforce accommodations. The bed was a great way to incorporate technology, hence the iPad, which housed a brief video introduction, followed by a digital version of the RFP submission.
Broad proficiencies, Jack of all trades
I’m an expert in Adobe’s core design applications and typography, and I also offer a diverse skill set that lends itself well to experimenting with different mediums in photography, video editing, and coding.

I’m Here For You
More than design and creative strategic support.
Working with stakeholders and content experts to develop and execute creative projects creatively
Having worked with various industry professionals throughout my career, I’ve developed great working relationships with many experts to support larger initiatives, adding capacity to an internal team.
With extensive experience working with internal departments and external agencies, I’m more than comfortable managing projects on various levels.
Consistent, identifiable design in a sea of instant gratification is the ideal outcome
Anyone can post images to their social media accounts, but what sets great brands from everyone else are clear guidelines with a consistent visual design that can be identified at a glance from a social feed.
The meat and potatoes of design production.
As my core competency in graphic design, supporting messaging in the simplest way possible is always my goal.
I revel in taking rough concepts provided by clients and tweaking and refining them into something beautiful!
Ensuring brand integrity through consistent design
Nothing is more important than a consistent visual communication. It helps bolster brand strength, integrity, and trust.
Efficient Collaborative Beautiful
Not everyone’s a designer, and having conversations that build the best design plans to meet the needs of every client is essential to maximizing work efficiencies and productivity to produce results that exceed expectations.
Research
The most important step in any project is understanding how the final result will operate in practice. A great deal of research and understanding is required to obtain the best outcomes.
Collaborate
Meeting with key stakeholders / project sponsors to quantify solid design briefs ensures objectives and scope are adhered to by all involved.
Develop
The fun part of any project is putting ink to paper, or pixels to the page. The prototyping phase is where I crash test designs to see if they hold up.
Iterate
Rarely will I nail a design on the first try (I admit I’m not a unicorn). This is where concepts on a page turn into magic – through iteration and refinement.
Deliver
And voila! As simple as that, a glorious piece of artwork is produced for all to enjoy!
